Studying Smart
Studying Smart requires a student to be sincere, discipline, and above all honest with himself or herself. For every subject that you choose to understand and learn about you must set aside certain amount of time for every subject, and then give that subject that time with sincerity over and over again until your teacher has given your final result in that subject matter. Try to understand your subject rather than just copy or repeat some steps (especially in math). In order to achieve great results in studying one has to be physically fit, improve notes and review skills, have proper classroom manner, improve your presentation skills, manage you time, and manage you finance.

Be Physically Fit
Create an exercise schedule and stick to, and it will improve your health, reduce stress, and anxiety. Exercising will also help your immune system and help your mind in focusing. Less time out of class due to health reason and proper focus will help yield better grade. It will also save you money on doctor visit and unnecessary medical expense.

Classroom Manners
In coming to class on time and appearing in proper manner can help improve your grade, and class impression. Appear in class on time and never miss the first and last few minutes of your class. Most important information is discussed in the first and last few minutes of the class. Try to seat in front of the class and if you have to seat in the back then make sure you have clear view of the front. Whatever you don’t understand in your reading or in the lecture ask about it. It is ok to ask questions.

Notes and Subject Review

If you want to become a good note taker then you must prepare ahead of the time. Study your book ahead of time regarding the subject you professor or teacher is going to review that day. Also when reviewing you study material in books or article use highlighter to cover main point and topics. This can help when you have to do a quick review of the subject. Teachers usually gives hints and guidelines to next class meeting topics, and if they don’t just ask them. Number one mistake bad note taker makes is that the right down everything or at least tries. Understand the main topic and main point of the teacher regarding the discussion and write that down. Write down people name, time and date, and place of event that were not discussed in your reading that you did ahead of time. If you did your reading ahead of time then you will be able to differentiate between new and information you already read about. Learn short form of words that can speed up your note writing. Once you have taken the note and the class is over review your notes while the lecture is fresh in your mind, and makes any correction need by adding or editing your notes. Also when reviewing your notes try to review them out load, it will help in remembering. Some student uses digital recorder, computers, or tape player to record the lecture if allowed by University and professor.

Improve Your Presentation
When you are submitting your paper try to use word processor so your message can be read clearly. Make sure you review you paper over again to make sure there are no typos or grammar errors. When you are doing a presentation try to use PowerPoint slides, and try to provide a copy of your presentation to your audience. When presenting numbers try to use graph in your paper or presentation, and always aim for some extra points. Ask you teacher about extra points you can earn by doing extra work if you time allows, even if you are doing well on the class.

Manage Your Time
Every project require certain amount of time and respect, and it is when that respect and time is not given we meet with failure or disappointment. Every project in life requires time, money, and resource, and studying is not different. Once you have allocated enough time in your schedule to attend the classes, allocate some more time out of class for each subject. Some subject will require more time than other depending on their difficulties. Four every hour you spend in class you want to allocate double that amount of time outside of class for the subject.

If you are luck enough that someone is willing to finance your education like your parent, grandparent, or anyone then you have been blessed with good chance of finishing you education goal. Number one reason that most sincere students don’t get their grade in school is because they have to divert their studying time to earning money to survive. Does not matter what country you are in, if you are going to finance your own education then you must make a budget for few things:
  1. Living Expense
  2. Food and Dining Expense
  3. Health Care Expense
